All mandatory skills
• Be responsible for the development of the conceptual, logical, and physical data models, the implementation of RDBMS, operational data store (ODS), data marts, and data lakes on target platforms (SQL/NoSQL).
• Experience with data warehouse, data lake, and enterprise big data platforms in multi-data-Center contexts required.
• Good knowledge of metadata management, data modelling, and related tools (Erwin or ER Studio or others) required.
• Analyzing and translating business needs into long-term solution data models.
• Exposure to Data Vault implementation
• 5 years of hands-on experience in data modelling.
• 2 years of hands-on experience in Data Vault modelling.
Some tips for suppliers for shortlisting the CVs
(1) We do want:
• A person who is consistently in roles as a dedicated Data modeler for Data Warehouses. This will be apparent on their CV because their job role will be Data Modeler, their profile summary will be Data Modeler and their historic job roles for the last few years will all be Data Modeler.
(2) We do not want:
• A person who describes themselves as an Architect – these people may have experience at a high level but will not have the detailed knowledge on data modelling techniques.
• A person who undertakes many non-data modelling activities on their CV
(3) We do not want:
• A person who includes Data Modelling as one of the many activities they undertake – Most developers have some exposure to data modelling so they put it on their CVs as a skill. This is definitely not the case because they do not have the in-depth knowledge.
• Talks about ETL or development type activities
• Talks about management type activities
